Mist of the Border Ranges

Mist of the Border Ranges

EXPLORING the western side of the Tweed Volcano today, the high humidity of the past few days finally gave way to a large rain system marking the start of the rainy season.

Steady rain falling all day created a thick mist of cloud over the mountains and valleys alike. Even the normally parched Kyogle in the valley between the ancient volcano and the Great Dividing Range was lush and green. In the Border Ranges National Park, the ferns and mosses of the rainforests suddenly burst into life from the rain falling from the thick mist.
