Point Arkwright

Point Arkwright

LEAVING home just after 3:00 this morning I headed up to the Sunshine Coast to meet with a few of the guys in the camera club I now attend. I was hoping with such an early start this could be nothing less than a stunning sunrise.

A large swell generated by a cyclone further north a few days ago coupled with a gentle breeze ensured lenses would quickly get covered in salt spray, but not before I got this twenty second long exposure shot of the beach looking southward about half an hour before sunrise. Scrambling over the rocks to get the best vantage points did prove a little precarious especially with the large waves threatening to wash us away if we came too close to them.

As for the sunrise itself, it was nothing spectacular by any stretch of the imagination by then camera lenses were covered in salt spray.
